Vaccine Injuries and Deaths Continue to Increase in Federal Vaccine Court

by Brian Shilhavy Health Impact News

The Department of Justice issues a report on vaccine injuries and deaths every quarter to the Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines (Click on “Meeting Book – PDF – 12 MB” for June 4 meeting). There are 163 cases for vaccine injuries and deaths for the period 2/16/2015 through 5/15/2015.

103 of the settlements were listed in this report, giving the name of the vaccines, the injury, and the amount of time the case was pending before settlement. Four of those settlements were for deaths linked to vaccines, with three deaths related to the flu shot, and one death for the Hepatitis B shot, typically given to newborns. 74 of the 103 settlements were for injuries and deaths due to the flu shot, and the majority of flu shot injuries were for Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

These quarterly reports on vaccine injuries and death settlements from the U.S. vaccine court are seldom, if ever, reported in the mainstream media. We report them here at Health Impact News. Here is the June 4, 2015 report:

U.S. Government Withholds Vaccine Injury Data: Rolls Out “Vaccine Confidence Plan” Instead

Health Impact News Editor Comments

Theresa Wrangham of the National Vaccine Information Center does an excellent job in this article exposing how the U.S. Government is attempting to conceal data showing vaccine injuries and deaths for the sake of selling more vaccines. Health Impact News is one of the few outlets in the U.S. right now that publishes the quarterly reports supplied by the Department of Justice to the Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines showing cases compensated for vaccine injuries and deaths. You can view those reports here.

DHHS Withholds Vaccine Injury Data and Rolls Out Vaccine Confidence Plan

by Theresa Wrangham NVIC Executive Director

Federal Vaccine Advisory Committee Update – ACCV and NVAC

NVIC regularly monitors meetings held by federal vaccine advisory committees, including the Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines (ACCV) and the National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC). Both ACCV and NVAC were created under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 and committee members are appointed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to usually serve two to four-year terms.

The ACCV is charged with providing oversight and giving advice to DHHS on the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) that Congress designed in the 1986 law to serve as an alternative to vaccine injury lawsuits against vaccine manufacturers and doctors.

During ACCV meetings, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation (DVIC) present quarterly data on vaccine injury claim petitions filed and the length of time each petition took to process; petitions that result in federal compensation; how many cases were adjudicated by concession, settlement or through a U.S. Court of Claims decision; and how many cases were dismissed.
